Situated in the quaint town of Elk Park, our cozy cabin is the escape you've been searching for! You'll find a fully stocked kitchen, washer & dryer, fireplace (WINTER ONLY) and firepit, grill, pool table, foosball table, WiFi, 2 king beds and a sleeper sofa. Drive to Beech or Sugar Mountain (25 minutes), Roan Mountain (10 minutes) and Elk River Falls (15 minutes). So homey you'll never want to leave, but close to everything the area has to offer if you do venture out!
***If you plan on visiting during Winter, an AWD/4WD vehicle is necessary for accessing our home. We live on a windy road with several uphill and downhill slopes that are difficult for a 2WD vehicle to navigate when it snows.
The space:
Our 1100 sqft A-frame has 2 bedrooms (each king size), a sleeper sofa in the living room (queen size) and 2 full bathrooms (showers only, no tubs). The kitchen boasts everything you'll need to prepare and enjoy a home cooked meal. At the dining table you'll find seating for 8 guests. Enjoy single serve or coffee by the carafe at the coffee bar. Head out to the balcony where you can sit by the firepit, have a drink at the picnic table, or grill/smoke on the Pit Boss pellet grill. Don't forget to enjoy the stars and lounge under the hanging lights at night. In the living room you can warm up by the fireplace as you stream a movie on the Smart TV or listen to your favorite song on the Marshall bluetooth speaker. Take a trip downstairs to play pool or foosball in the unfinished garage. Feel free to stock your gear here after a trip to the mountains. Take advantage of the washer & dryer while you stay.
When we found our home it was in need of some TLC. We've been working hard to transform it to the perfect getaway, but we are not quite finished yet. Please excuse the bathrooms as they are still in need of some updates, they are next on our list! Don't worry, they are spotless and everything functions as it should.
Guest access:
Up for skiing/snowboarding in Winter or mountain biking/hiking in Summer? Check out Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain just 25 minutes from the cabin. If you want to travel a bit further, Appalachian Ski Mountain is 45 minutes away. Let's talk hiking. To name just a few Elk River Falls is a 15 minute drive, Grandfather Mountain is 25 minutes, Roan Mountain is 14 minutes, and the Appalachian Trail is just 7 minutes away. Searching for more adventure? Try ATV/UTV tours, zip lining, the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, white water rafting, hunting or fishing.
Looking to slow things down? There are plenty of restaurants, bars, bistros and wineries in the area. If you'd like to make the most of the kitchen, there are several grocery stores available as well.

We try to provide some small extras to do all we can to make your stay incredible. A few extras you'll find are:
- Kitchen staples (olive oil, S&P, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin)
- Enough coffee grounds for your first pot
- A griddle in the kitchen for whipping up some breakfast for everyone in the morning
- Emulsifier for making those hearty soups or a light salad dressing
- A high chair to make feeding your little one just a little easier
- The board game Catan to make for a fun game night
- Space heaters in each bedroom to keep you toasty at night
- Snow shoes for those Winter hikes
