Solitude! Peace! If you are looking to unwind and recharge, then come escape to a little piece of heaven on Phoenix Mountain in a rustic log cabin. We are 15 minutes from West Jefferson and about 30 minutes from Boone.
If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of life, Raemas Cabin is just what you are looking for. Raemas Cabin sits on 3 lots of land on Phoenix Mountain. This custom built log cabin is surrounded with natural beauty. There are paths to explore, creeks nearby to fish or just sit and unwind on the large front porch.
There are tons of novelty shops 10-15 minutes away in West Jefferson along with the famous Cheese Factory. About 30 minutes away is Boone, NC the home of Appalachian State University. Plenty of shopping is to be had there too with a personal favorite of mine being the Mast General Store. If you prefer a quaint little town, Lansing is adorable. Grab a pizza from Pie on the Mountain and walk across the street to the park where you can picnic by a mountain stream.
Once you arrive, you are instantly surrounded by large hardwood trees that wrap you into a sense of tranquility. The large front deck allows easy entrance into the glass front of the cabin.
A large open spaced vaulted ceiling living room/kitchen area greet you. The cabin is filled with wooden floors, leather furnishings, fireplace (with gas logs), rugs and lots of cozy blankets. Two bedrooms flow off each side of the main living room/kitchen area. Each bedroom has its own full sized bathroom, all of which is located on a single level structure.
In case you choose to stay connected with reality, the cabin has a large screen Smart TV in the main living room area with access to all of your streaming accounts. Each bedroom also has its own TV with Roku set up.
The kitchen has beautiful stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a large farmhouse sink along with a dishwasher and microwave. All your essential needs such as pots, pans, utensils, cutlery, coffee maker, dishes, glasses, mixer, and crock pot are available.
Right off the kitchen is a full sized washer/dryer. Feel free to use these appliances as well as an electric grill on the back porch.
This single level home is easily accessed from the front or back door. No extra steps to climb, once you enter. Both bedrooms have a very comfy queen sized bed and a Smart TV with Roku. French doors will lead you out onto the deck from either bedroom. Each bedroom has a full sized bathroom with granite countertops, double sinks, and a bathtub/shower setup.
The leather sofa in the living room also pulls out to a queen sized sleeper sofa, if you want to accommodate more quests.
My favorite part of the home is the front porch. Adirondack chairs and 2 rockers allow you to sit and take in the beauty of the mountains. Hummingbirds play around the feeders. Families of deer come through the property frequently. Although we haven't personally seen one, we have heard there is a bear or two on the mountain. Come enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Please note: We are tucked away on the side of Phoenix Mountain. 4 wheel drive is NOT required, but please know you do climb up to about 2800 feet above sea level.

Whether you are looking to kayak the local rivers, view the colorful foliage in the fall, ski the slopes of Boone, or just want to hike the local trails, this quaint little cabin is a gorgeous place to relax at the end of the day.
