Welcome to Grandfather Cabin!
Set on a beautiful hillside, Grandfather Cabin is centrally located to many activities in the High Country. It's the perfect, private basecamp as you explore our caverns, mountaintops, and wineries! Newly added Starlink internet makes it easy to stay in, as well!
The home has ample parking along the house, and an idyllic front porch that wraps around to the far side. Inside, you'll note the farmhouse kitchen with stainless appliances and eat-in dining. The living room has ample natural light thanks to the skyights and windows. Enjoy the wood stove, comfortable sofas, and mounted flat-screen TV. On the east side of the home are two bedrooms with a full bathroom in the open hallway between the two. On the left is the king bedroom with ceiling fan. To the right, behind the kitchen, is another king bedroom with a full sized washer and dryer for convenience.
Upstairs, you'll find a loft with seating and tabletop games, and a bedroom with a queen and twin bed. Little ones will enjoy exploring the hidden nook in the bedroom, while older ones will enjoy the TV in the bedroom. A full bathroom with a tub/shower combination is between the bedroom and loft.
Outside, enjoy the porch swings, picnic table, and grill on the deck. In the yard is a firepit with seating.

- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

- This home allows dogs for an additional rent of $25 per night pet pet. Mature, crate trained dogs only, please; max of two.
- Firewood may be added by at the time of booking or by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.
- The main roads are plowed in winter, but 4WD or AWD vehicles are required November-March, and chains may also be necessary to access all properties in winter months. We are happy to help you find the home with the access you are most comfortable with, any time of year!
- All linens and towels provided for your stay.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
