Holiday Cottage is a charming mountain cabin in the Lakes Community on Seven Devils, between Boone and Banner Elk. The community has two ponds that guests can fish in with the proper license. A one-mile drive will bring you to Otter Falls Trail, a beautiful hike with views and a waterfall. The Seven Devils Town Park is also about one mile away and offers basketball, tennis, pickleball, and a playground. Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zip Lines is less than ten minutes and will delight guests of all ages. A fifteen-minute drive will take you to Sugar Mountain Resort or Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster. Enjoy live music at Grandfather Winery, only six minutes away. Want to grab a walk across the famous mile-high bridge? Grandfather Mountain is twenty minutes down the road.
Holiday Cottage is a classic log cabin located on a serene wooded lot. The front porch is covered and offers two sitting areas where guests can enjoy their morning coffee. High vaulted ceilings and exposed log walls greet you as you enter the cabin. The main floor is open, with clear sight lines from the living room to the kitchen, perfect for entertaining. There is comfortable seating arranged around the floor-to-ceiling stacked stone wood-burning fireplace, a cozy atmosphere place to relax after a day of exploring the High Country. The covered back deck, with a seating area, dining table, and gas grill, overlooks the creek and makes a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Downstairs, the pool table is waiting for a friendly pool tournament. Outside on the patio, the hot tub offers an excellent place to relax after a day of hiking at Otter Falls or shopping in Banner Elk.
Holiday Cottage is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom cabin that can accommodate up to twelve guests. The main level bedroom has warm exposed beams, tongue-and-groove ceilings, and a queen bed. There is a full bathroom in the hallway. Upstairs, the loft bedroom sleeps four in two queen beds and a full private bathroom. Note - the loft bedroom does not have a door. The lower level can sleep up to five guests in the queen bedroom and bunk beds in the common game area. There is an additional full bathroom on the lower level.
Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, baseboard heat, and a washer and dryer. Guests can stream their own streaming services from the Roku TVs. The living room has a queen sleeper sofa. Pets are not permitted at this cabin. The gravel parking area is level and can accommodate up to three vehicles. Winter travelers should prepare for inclement weather with AWD or 4WD and tire chains.
