Ideally located near Lake James State Park, you can spend your days exploring nearby hiking trails like the Fonta Flora Loop, Overmountain Victory, or the Holly Discovery (complete with child-friendly activities). If you don't mind a bit of a drive, you can visit another state park nearby, South Mountains, for a more challenging hike like Chestnut Knob or a beautiful waterfall hike like High Shoal Falls before grabbing a refreshing craft beer at Fonta Flora's open-air brewery at Whippoorwill Farm a mere 12 minutes from the home. Also located in Nebo is the award-winning South Creek Winery which welcomes pets and hosts numerous events throughout the year.

While the home offers gorgeous lake views, it is technically not "lakefront," as it's situated on a large hill that is across the road from the public Black Bear Boat Ramp & lake access point (6114 Lake James Rd). The home also does NOT have its own private boat dock, but you are welcome to rent a boat through Bear Creek Marina (1.1 miles away) or Lake James Neighborhood Store (8.1 miles away) during your stay.
