A perfect spot for families and outdoorsy folks! The toughest decision you’ll make will be which of two large decks to lounge, listening to the birds and relaxing after an active (or chilled out!) day.
Paintings, stained glass, woodworkings, tapestries and other work from 15 local artists are the heart and soul of our sanctuary.
Enjoy the fireplace as you plan your next hike in Dupont State Forest (just 12 minutes away), Pisgah National Forest, or nearby Carl Sandburg House. The Park at Flat Rock is also 10 minutes away, as are Flat Rock restaurants like the Village Bakery and Campfire Grill.
You will have the whole property to yourself during the visit. You have access to all areas of this lot, including more than 600sf of outdoor decks, half of that area covered.
WE ARE PET FRIENDLY but please get in touch with the owners to ensure the safety of your pets during your stay. We will describe the fenced yard and make sure it is suitable for your pets before you book with them.
Common Areas
The family room has a large, 9-foot sectional sofa, a popular pillow chair, two other chairs, and a gas fireplace. 55" TV with Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime provided.
The kitchen has a large window with a table that seats 8, as well as a desk that is a laptop friendly work area.
Sleeps 6
The "cabin" bedroom has a queen bed (with memory foam mattress topper) and a reading nook to watch the birds out the window.
The "cobalt" bedroom has a queen bed (with memory foam mattress) and a chaise lounge to read or snuggle or look out the window.
The kids’ bedroom has a twin trundle bed with memory foam mattresses.
All bedrooms have blackout curtains.
Large sofa could also sleep someone. Family Room also has blackout curtains just in case.
Bathrooms
One full bathroom between the cabin and cobalt bedrooms has a tub and shower. (One sink)
One full bathroom next to the kids’ bedroom has a stand-up shower. (One sink)
One half-bathroom is ensuite in the cobalt bedroom, with a sink and toilet. (One sink)
Kitchen
Full refrigerator, oven/range, closet-sized pantry, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, electric griddle, crock pot, veggie steamer. NO dishwasher, no garbage disposal.
Other notes
The garage is connected and has room for one vehicle. Garage door opener provided.
The decks come with equipped with ample seating. The front deck has a table that seats four, as well as other bench seating for up to 9. The rear deck has a hammock, two hammock chairs, a lounge chair and seating for four more.
The property is almost two acres, with part of it fenced with a 3-foot high fence.
There is an emergency generator which switches on automatically in case of power outages.
WiFi is provided however, we are in the woods! Sometimes the signal just isn't that great. We've worked to find the best service and will continue to do so. We appreciate your understanding when our WiFi has a bad day.
Security deposit -- If you or any of the guests who stay with you damage anything in the home, including the artwork provided by local artists, you will be charged the full amount of loss/damage of any item.
Pets are welcome! An extra pet deposit will not be returned if there are any signs/smells of “messes”, or any signs of chewing or other damage. We provide an extra large (great dane size!) open wire crate for guest use. We also provide a large dog bed, stainless steel bowls, and goodies to welcome our four-footed guests. Please contact us about details of our fenced area and our recommendations for your pet's safety.
