WALKABLE DINING NEIGHBORHOOD FAVORITES:
Our home is located on the border of the South Historic District and the Victorian District. We love the location because you can experience Savannah like a local instead of a tourist, and we are surrounded by places we actually go to all the time.
4 min → Bobbie's Diner: A beautifully restored 1950s diner owned by SCAD. Our son's favorite is the pancakes, and the classic breakfast is amazing.
5 min → PERC Coffee: Our absolute go-to for coffee. We love the lattes and the casual warehouse vibe.
7 min → Treylor Park Pizza Party: A fun, retro pizza spot with really unique and creative toppings.
7 min → Tacos & Tequila: A great neighborhood spot with massive margaritas and excellent street tacos.
9 min → Cotton & Rye: A fantastic restaurant located in a renovated 1950s bank. Perfect for a nicer dinner out.
10 min → The Sentient Bean: A staple coffee shop right at the foot of the park that also has great vegetarian food.
10 min → Brighter Day Natural Foods Market: Perfect for some to-go lunches and all of your organic fruits and veggies.
13 min → Bull Street Taco: A bustling neighborhood favorite. You have to try the fresh fish tacos.
14 min → Maté Factor: A unique, multi-level rustic teahouse with a great bakery. We love sitting out on the patio here.
18 min → Saint Bibiana: An elegant spot for handmade Italian pastas and great cocktails in a historic setting.
20 min → Collins Quarter at Forsyth: Perfect for a weekend brunch right inside the park.
SIGHTS & CONVENIENCES:
✔︎ To explore Savannah's classic historic sites, head to the waterfront to stroll down the cobblestones of River Street and watch the massive cargo ships pass by.
✔︎ While you are downtown, you have to stop by Leopold's Ice Cream on Broughton Street—it is an iconic Savannah staple that has been serving amazing, old-school scoops since 1919!
✔︎ If you want to try a completely different, artsy part of town, you should definitely check out Starland Yard. It's a vibrant outdoor food truck park with a great bar and live music, and it is super family-friendly.
✔︎ For a fun dinner option, take a straight, easy trip right up Broad Street to the famous Pirate’s House. It originally opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers, and now it's a great historic restaurant with a hearty Southern buffet and local ghost stories.
✔︎ On Saturday mornings, we highly recommend walking 10 minutes down to the south end of Forsyth Park to check out the Saturday Farmers Market for fresh local food and pastries.
✔︎ Be sure to take a trolley ride to get your historical bearings of Savannah (we like Old Savannah Tours the best.)
✔︎ The Spooky Savannah Haunted Pub Crawl is a fun way to experience haunted Savannah and also keep the party going!
✔︎ Day Trips: If you want a beach day, you are just a 25-minute drive from the shores of Tybee Island. To save you packing space, we supply beach chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards, and everything you need for a day in the sun!
THE SPACE & AMENITIES:
Upstairs features 1 King Master Suite with a rain shower and 2 Queen Bedrooms connected by a shared bathroom. Downstairs includes a half-bath and 2 roll-away beds for extra sleeping flexibility.
GUEST ACCESS & NEIGHBORHOOD CONTEXT
Guests have full, exclusive access to the entire home and backyard amenities. Your two private parking spaces are located directly behind the fully fenced backyard and are accessed via the alleyway, which is very typical for historic downtown Savannah homes.
A note on our neighborhood vibe: We are proud to be located in a diverse, artsy, and transitioning downtown neighborhood full of local character and eclectic Savannah charm. Just a few doors down lives a wonderful, friendly local artist with a very elaborately decorated, maximalist back yard (and a “fart” sign in his front yard!) Sometimes people are surprised when they pass his home - particularly while parking in the back - so we like to give guests a heads up that he’s lovely and kind.
Because this is a central urban area, Anderson is a busy city street and the train tracks sit two blocks away. To ensure a perfect, peaceful night's sleep, we provide sound machines and earplugs in all bedrooms. We haven’t had any issues with train horns at night and typically only hear the train once a day in the morning.
