Old Chestnut Cabin An Upgraded Piece of History | Cabin in Waynesville
4 Bedroom Cabin in Lake Junaluska, Waynesville
Old Chestnut was a log cabin in the early 1800s in Tennessee that was disassembled, moved to Lake Junaluska in 1977, and reassembled. See the tags on the logs that helped the reassembly process! With two gas-log fireplaces, this cabin truly has the charm of old time living with plenty of modern amenities and upgrades to help you relax and unwind with ease.
Cataloochee Ski Area is 23 min. away!
Must be at least 25 years old to rent. Based on North Carolina Commission Laws, we will send you a rental agreement to sign. Proof of Identification is needed for verification purposes.
Old Chestnut is the perfect getaway to experience old time charm, fantastic views and mountain breezes. When you stay here, you're experiencing a piece of history! A double decker covered porch awaits you, as does a cozy living room, spacious, modern kitchen, and a clawfoot tub for soaking after a long day of hiking. You won't be far from the food and shopping scenes of Waynesville and all the amazing trails this area has to offer.
*Room and bed layout*:
There are three rooms upstairs: one bedroom with a queen, one with a twin, and a sitting room with a pull-out sofa bed (full) and a CorduRoy-brand bean bag that converts to a twin bed. There is a downstairs bedroom with a full bed. The living room couch is a sleeper (queen).
We do have a dog crate (Large, 36"L x 23"W x 25"H, 41-70lb dog).
**Please note that due to the age of the house, while there is central AC there are not vents upstairs. Luckily we get some great mountain breezes and the AC downstairs helps cool the house!*
The walkway/stairs leads to two different cabins, this cabin is on the left as you walk up the steps.
We do not reside on the property but are just a quick phone call or message away should you have any questions during your stay.
*Guests will need to download the AirBnb app and turn on notifications in order to receive communications from the host. Thank you! *
