This house is ideal for those interested in day trips to areas including Pisgah National Forest, Nantahala and Cherokee National Forests and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Other favorite day trip destinations include Maggie Valley, Cherokee, Cataloochee Ski Area, Asheville, Dollywood, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
20 miles from the home is access to the Appalachian Trail near Cosby, TN. Hike a short way to view a waterfall on this trail or drive past the AT access point to find a lovely area to climb on rocks or play in the Pigeon River.
After a day of exploring, relax by the fire pit or ignite the electric fireplaces for instant ambiance.
4WD or All Wheel Drive is necessary during winter snow and ice (typically January - March). If a snow or ice storm is expected, the host will contact you about altering the reservation dates. The last mile to the house is off of a state-maintained gravel road and the driveway up to the home is gravel. Driveway maintenance was completed in September 2023.
Guests are required to e-sign a rental agreement with the host.
3 exterior security cameras are located on the property. One camera is above the driveway, another camera is located by the side entrance door on the 2nd floor, and the third camera is located above the stairs in the back of the chalet.
