Prepare for the best vacation spot you've been to in a while. Trout Lake Lodge is new to the short term rental program October 2023. Located in the gated community of Powder Horn you can walk out your front door to hike for miles, play tennis, use the fitness center at the clubhouse or go fishing right out your front door! This house is fully equipped with everything on one level. There is one flight of stairs to the main floor (see pictures) but once one the main deck you will enjoy everything Trout Lake Lodge has to offer.

Main Floor Kitchen is fully stocked with plates, cups, wine glasses, mugs, silverware, knives, strainers, pots, pans, cookie sheets, coffee maker(Drip), measuring spoons, measuring cups, crockpot, blender, full size oven, full size fridge, microwave, dishwasher, EVERYTHING you need to cook Thanksgiving Dinner!
3 bedrooms, split plan,main bedroom is a King w/ bathroom (not ensuite) with tile shower, newly renovated, 2 more bedrooms on opposite side of the house both queen beds. 2 fold out twin beds that can easily fit in the master or in the open game room. Main living room opens up to the lake view and has a propane fireplace for renters use. Island kitchen and large dining area plenty of space to spread out and enjoy relaxing!
Whats Included
All our cabins come with all linens we do recommend guest bring extra pool towels for both visiting the campground (huge swimming holes down there!) and the community pool for when it is open. We also provide one roll of paper towel and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom for each guest. A small amount of cleaning supplies as well as a few trash bags, dish detergent, laundry detergent and a sponge are also provided. This house also provides a small welcome basket with a toiletries, Keurig cups and some snack bars complimentary to their guests.
The Neighborhood
This house is located in Powder Horn Mountain in Deep Gap, NC. (Gated! Make sure your screen shot your gate code and your house access code before you arrive!) GPS is not always reliable so print directions prior to leaving and we also recommend turning on Wifi calling prior to getting to the mountain. We are about 25 mins to Appalachian State University and Main Street in Boone but only about 13 miles. We are about 18 -25 miles to all the ski resorts or about 35 to 45mins. Blowing Rock and Banner Elk are each about 35-45 mins from our front gate. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 7 miles away with an access point at the top of Elk Creek Rd on old 421. The closest grocery store is Food Lion located at the intersection of 421 and Old 421 across from Tractor Supply. (Get groceries before you arrive!) There is RV camping and horseback riding near by at Leatherwood Mountain Resort. Elk Creek is just outside the front gate of Powder Horn and is a state stocked trout stream this is an anglers paradise make sure you get your fishing license, you will find it is some of the best fishing around! Local wineries and breweries abound including Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Boonshine Brewing, Grandfather Vineyards, Banner Elk Winery and so many others. So much to do!!!! Make sure to also check out the Lil' Hidden Creek Gem mine located about 1 mile past the back gate of Powder Horn. Within the gates of Powder Horn is its own little community! There are three ponds, a campground on the river, horseshoe pits, grills, and fire circles, Clubhouse, fitness center, community pool (open may through sept), game room (pool table, foosball, ping pong), playground, tennis court, half basketball court, chapel and miles upon miles of awesome hiking trails!
